Five million people are expected to see the Gila Cliff Dwellings over Times Square during the week of April 1-7, 2014.

A 5-second animated advertisement will promote Silver City and the surrounding area and will run 120 times on the ABC – Good Morning America Screen over Times Square. The ad, placed by the Silver City Arts and Cultural District and funded in part by Silver City Lodgers Tax, is part of a national campaign that also includes advertising in a travel supplement distributed in the Wall Street Journal.

The ad utilizes the New Mexico Tourism’s Department brand “New Mexico true” logo and is part of a cooperative advertising effort between Silver City and the New Mexico Tourism Department.

“We are very excited to have this opportunity. Silver City has received national press attention recently and we see this as a means to expanding that exposure,” said George Julian Dworin, Silver City Arts & Cultural District and Tourism Director.
