Cause of Fire: human, ditch burning - Citation was issued to landowner

Fire lines have held through today's Red Flag Warning and crews continued to mop up the fire area. Tonight's activity will focus on patrolling the fire lines, looking for any remaining hot spots.

Containment is 60% and there was no change in the size of the burn area. Acreage is holding at 198 acres. A small burnout was conducted late last night, but it did not increase the overall size of the fire.

No structures remain threatened and none were damaged.

Valencia County fire crews did have to respond to two additional, small fires today, in the Los Chavez area. One of the fires damaged a barn.

Crews will continue to work the burn area tomorrow, dealing with any remaining hot spots and patrolling containment lines.
