Yesterday's Actions: Signal Fire crews patrolled the fire perimeter to deal with remaining hot spots while others were prepositioned along Highway 35 to provide initial attack if necessary. A number of crews have been released and are traveling to the Slide Fire in Arizona. Crews will remain through Thursday to deal with initial attack of any flare ups or spot fires.

Today's Actions: Remaining crews are working to rehabilitate the fire line perimeter and patrol for any remaining heat. The Burned Area Emergency Response Team is working to assess and plan for needed actions over the entire fire, A type 4 incident management team from the Gila National Forest, composed of three crews, several engines, and a bulldozer, is preparing to take over management of the Signal Fire on Thursday at 8 p.m. Resources are also assigned to initial attack in case that need should arise.

Weather: Today is forecast to be sunny early and becoming partly cloudy by early afternoon. Temperatures will range from 64 to 75 degrees over the fire area. Moisture is moving into our area causing humidity to increase slightly today to be followed tomorrow with the chance of thunderstorms through the end of the week.

This will be the last update by the Southwest Incident Management Team 5 for the Signal Fire. The team would like to express our sincere appreciation to area residents for their cooperation during our assignment. We hope the remainder of your summer is free of additional fires.
