...Dangerous Downburst Winds and Thick Blowing Dust Possible Over
The Deserts West of the Rio Grande Today...

Ingredients Have Come Together for the Second Consecutive Day For
Elevated Showers and High Base Weak Thunderstorms West of the Rio
Grande to Produce Very Strong Downdraft Winds This Afternoon And
Evening. Moist Mid-Levels and Very Dry Low-Levels Will Promote The
Formation of Showers and Storms Aloft with Significant Evaporation
Of Rain below the Storms. This Process Produces Sudden And
Unexpected Strong Winds Over Seemingly Unlikely Locations.

Some of These Outflow Gusts May Be Strong Enough to Cause Damage
To Structures. a Second Significant Impact Is Dense Blowing Dust
Over the Lowlands. These Dust Storms Severely Reduce Visibilities
And Make Traveling Very Dangerous. Yesterday These Same Conditions
Resulted in Multiple Fatalities in a Wreck on I-10 West Of
Lordsburg.

We Urge You to Drive with Caution Today. if You See Dust Being
Lofted Assume It Will Become Too Thick to Safely Drive Into. Find
A Safe Place to Wait out the Dust. Slow Down...pull Completely
Off the Roadway...turn off Your Lights...and Take Your Foot off The
Brake. These Actions Will Keep Others from Ramming Your Car From
Behind.
