...Record Breaking High Temperatures Expected for Much of The Borderland Today through at Least Wednesday..

A Strong Upper Level High Will Allow Temperatures to Reach Or Exceed the Century Mark Over Most of the Lowland Deserts Over The Next Few Days with Mountains Reaching the 80S and 90S. Fortunately Most Rural Areas and Mountains Will Cool Back into the 50S...60S And Lower 70S at Night...providing Several Hours of Relief From The Heat.

Precautionary/preparedness Actions...

The Hot Temperatures Will Create a Situation in Which Heat
Illnesses Are Possible. Drink Plenty of Fluids...stay in An Air-
Conditioned Room...stay out of the Sun...and Check up on Relatives
And Neighbors. Never Leave Children or Pets in a Closed Vehicle.
To Do so May Be Fatal in This Heat.

Take Extra Precautions if You Work or Spend Time Outside. When
Possible, Reschedule Strenuous Activities to Early Morning Or
Evening. Know the Signs and Symptoms of Heat Exhaustion and Heat
Stroke. Wear Light Weight and Loose Fitting Clothing and a Hat When
Possible and Drink Plenty of Water. Avoid Alcoholic Beverages.

To Reduce Risk during Outdoor Work the Occupational Safety And
Health Administration Recommends Scheduling Frequent Rest Breaks
In Shaded or Air Conditioned Environments. Anyone Overcome By
Heat Should Be Moved to a Cool and Shaded Location. Heat Stroke
Is An Emergency - Call 911
