The Colonias Infrastructure Board met on June 4 in Deming. The Board allocated approximately $14 million in funds to colonias-designated areas in southern New Mexico.

Grant County and its other governmental entities received $2.5 million of that funding:

 

Town of Silver City $489,623 Street and Drainage Improvements on Silver St.

Grant County $692,133 Rosedale Road Improvements

City of Bayard $125,000 Water System Improvements

Village of Santa Clara $628,153 Water System Improvements

Town of Silver City $591,905 Wastewater System Improvements

Tyrone MDWCA $487,253 Water System Improvements

Note:

Town of Hurley will receive funds from the Border Environmental Cooperation Commission for Road and Drainage improvements in the amount of $709,749.

The four-county region will receive approximately $5.5 million in colonias funding and an additional $1.7 million from Border Environmental Cooperation Commission.
