The Grant County 4-H Wildlife Team attended the WHEP (Wildlife Habitat Education Program) national contest in Columbia, Missouri July 25-30. The team consisted of Brandon Brown, Wyatt Moon, Tyler Monzingo, and Sinea Runnels. The team's coach Jerry Monzingo and chaperone Kristen Fisher also attended.

During their trip the team attended educational activities, viewed a wildlife refuge, toured the Missouri River, and competed against other teams from around the country.

The contest consisted of five different portions: evaluating a site for wildlife management practices, writing a wildlife management plan, wildlife identification, general wildlife knowledge, and an oral defense for the wildlife management plan.

Overall, the team placed 9th in the nation. Thank you for representing Grant County and New Mexico.

Congratulations to the Grant County 4-H Wildlife Team on all of their accomplishments.
