The City of Bayard had a dedication ceremony for two projects funded by USDA.

The City of Bayard received grant funding from USDA-Community Facilities for improvements to the Bayard Community Center. The total project funding was $208,000 ($117,235 grant and $90,765 local funding).

Improvements to the Community Center included:

The Community Center provides gathering space from local government meetings to weddings/graduation parties and baby showers. There are approximately 20-30 events each month. Office space is also leased out to various entities. Current lease is with CYFD. One additional room is available for lease.

The City of Bayard also has received funding from USDA and legislative appropriations for the construction of water system improvements which will include replacement of all municipal water meters with fully automatic read meters and also a water line replacement on Railroad Street.
