ThisMoisture Will Combine with An Upper Level Storm System PassingThrough the Rocky Mountains to Help Generate NumerousThunderstorms This Afternoon and Evening. with the ExcessiveMoisture in Place Thunderstorms Will Be Very Efficient RainProducers and Will Be Capable of Rainfall Totals of 1 to 3 InchesOf Rain in An Hour. This Excessive Rain Could Lead to FlashFlooding...especially of Normally Dry Arroyos...low WaterCrossings and Other Flood Prone Areas. the Threat for FlashFlooding Will Lessen as We Move into the Morning Hours on Wednesday.

Issued A

* Flash Flood Watch for Portions of NM and TX...including The
Following Areas...in NM...Otero...Sierr...Dona
Ana...Luna...Grant and Hidalgo Counties and in Texas...el Paso
and Hudspeth Counties.

* from Noon Mdt Today through Late Tonight

* Abundant Moisture Is Moving into the Region Today and Will
Combine with An Upper Level Storm System Moving through The
Rocky Mountains. These to Factors Will Lead to Numerous
Thunderstorms that Will Be Capable of Producing Heavy Rain And
Flooding This Afternoon and Evening for Southern New Mexico And
Far West Texas.

* Normally Dry Arroyos and Streams Could Be Quickly Filled With
Fast Moving Water...mud and Debris. Low Water Crossing Roadways
Could Become Impassable. Flooding of Poorly Drained Streets And
Intersections Is Possible for Urban Ares. in Addition Parts Of
the Watch also Contain Several Flood Sensitive Burn Scars.
People Living below These Burn Scars or in Flood Prone Areas
Should Be Prepared to Take Action if Rising Water Is Seen.
