The National Weather Service in El Paso Has Issued a

* Small Stream Flood Advisory For... Northeastern Grant County in South Central New Mexico... West Central Sierra County in North Central New Mexico...

* until 1045 pm Mdt

* at 238 pm Mdt...National Weather Service Doppler Radar Indicated Thunderstorms with Heavy Rainfall Have Produced 1 to 2 Inches of Rain Over the Northern Portion of the Black Range...including the Silver Fire Burn Scar Area. Runoff from These Storms Will Cause Enhanced Flows in the Upper Mimbres...mcknight Canyon...palomas... And Seco Creek Basins Over the Next Several Hours.

 

 

* Locations Impacted Include... Caballo... Hermosa... Cooney... Las Palomas...

Water Will Eventually Reach the Rio Grande Valley in Sierra County Late Tonight.

Any Additional Rainfall Over the Black Range May Result in the Expansion of This Advisory to Include Other Basins.

Precautionary/preparedness Actions...

Do not Attempt to Travel across Flooded Roads. It only Takes a Few Inches of Swiftly Flowing Water to Carry Vehicles Away.
