Silver City MainStreet Project Manager Timothy Brown told the Beat that up to the day before the Taste of Downtown, which was held Saturday, that 1,800 tickets had been sold, and more were being sold on Saturday. Visitors from Tucson and El Paso, as well as local residents, strolled down the sidewalks of the downtown area to visit 14 restaurants and their booths on Broadway.
"You can feel the energy on Bullard and Broadway," Brown said. "The restaurants are excited to be a part of the event."
He said MainStreet was promoting through the event all 28 restaurants in town. "Come to town, eat dinner, and stay for breakfast," Brown recommended.
