UPDATE: The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District One office has lifted the closure on NM 27 between Hillsboro and Nutt (west of Hatch).

The NMDOT personnel will continue to monitor roadways as heavy rain is forecasted for southern New Mexico.

 Please visit the department’s website www.nmroads.com to view updates, or call 511 in state along with 1-800-432-4269 out of state for a listing of these notifications.

 

ORIGINAL MESSAGE: Las Cruces – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District One office will continue to monitor roadway conditions as heavy rain is forecasted for this region of the state. Currently the NMDOT has two state routes closed due to flooding and roadway erosion.

· NM 152 near Hillsboro east of Silver City remains closed due to roadway damage and erosion
· NM 27 Nutt to Hillsboro west of Hatch is closed due to flooding

The NMDOT will post roadway and weather alerts on the department's web site as they are informed on www.nmroads.com, and can be retrieved by calling 511 in state or 1-800-432-4269 out of state.
