On Saturday the lawn at the center of Fort Bayard was filled with tents, a cannon, historic artifacts from the Civil War era, and re-enactors, dressed in period costume, to explain it all. There were tours available to explain the history of Fort Bayard and the various buildings, vintage base ball games to watch, and the opportunity to make adobe bricks and hand-build an adobe wall. Fort Bayard Days, which began Friday, conclude on Sunday with period music and an interdenominational worship service.

A ballpark frank lunch was served as a fundraiser for the Fort Bayard Restoration and Development Coaltion. It was held between vintage base ball games and before the military band concert. At the vintage base ball games between the Tucson Saguaros of the Arizona Territory Vintage Base Ball League and the Fort Bayard Burros, named after a team that used to play at the fort, the Burros took both games—13-11 in the first game and 17-10 in the second game.
