SILVER CITY, N.M. -- The Glenwood Ranger District has closed the Catwalk National Recreation Trail after flood waters damaged a section of road leading into the site.

Recent flash flooding severely impacted New Mexico Route 174, also known as Catwalk Road, making the recreation site inaccessible to the public. The roadway has been washed away at the Whitewater Creek crossing and repair work has been assessed by the New Mexico Department of Transportation.
