.A Moderate Strength Cold Front Pushed Into The Borderland Sunday Night And Monday Morning Bringing Dry And Cool Air Into The Region From The Rockies. Tonight Will Bring Clear Skies And Light Winds. This...Along With The Very Dry Air...Will Allow For Rapid Radiational Cooling And Settling Of The Airmass Leading To The Coldest Overnight And Early Morning Temperatures Of The Season Across Far West Texas And Southern New Mexico. 

 

For Some Of The Higher Elevations And Drainage Prone Valleys This Will Mean The
First Freeze Of The Season Overnight Tonight Into Tuesday Morning.
This Should Be A Relatively Shallow Freeze Of Short To Moderate
Duration.

The National Weather Service In El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa Has
Issued A Freeze Warning...Which Is In Effect From Midnight
Tonight To 9 Am Mdt Tuesday.

* Event: First Freezes Of The Fall Season To Affect Some Of The
Higher Terrain Of The Sacramento Mountains And The Mountains Of
The Gila Region As Well As Some Of The Colder Valleys Which
Receive Drainage Cooling In Both Sacramento Mountains And The
Gila Region.

* Timing: Expect Quick Cooling This Evening After Sunset With
Temperatures Dropping Below Freezing Between Midnight And
Sunrise. Temperatures Should Warm To Above Freezing Within An
Hour After Sunrise.

* Impact: Tonight'S Freeze Should Be Relatively Shallow And Short.
However People...Pets...Plants...And Pipes Should All Be
Protected. Exposed Pipes Could Freeze And Burst. Sensitive
Plants And Crops Could Be Harmed. Livestock And Pets Should Have
Shelter.
