GRMC effectively manages patients with infectious diseases frequently as a part of our commitment to serving the healthcare needs of our communities. However, like every other hospital, healthcare agency and provider in the country, GRMC is actively monitoring the developing Ebola situation and based on the evolving CDC Guidelines (http://www.cdc.gov/vhf/ebola/), implementing additional processes to provide the best and safest care possible should we receive a patient with the Ebola virus. These recent incidents are surely another reminder of just how complex and challenging healthcare can be. I once again applaud the efforts of GRMC's caregivers, the medical practitioners and healthcare providers in our community and healthcare workers everywhere, who every day, commit themselves to the challenge of providing for the healthcare needs of the communities they serve.
