In District 32 of the New Mexico House of Representatives, in which a tiny portion of Grant County lies, incumbent Democrat Dona G. Irwin retained her seat with 3, 244 votes to her Republican challenger Tom Bill Black's 2,859.

In District 38, Republican incumbent Dianne Hamilton will return to the House next January, by receiving 5,572 votes to Democrat Terry D. Fortenberry's 4,065.

In District 39, incumbent Democrat Rodolpho "Rudy" S. Martinez was upset in a squeaky close vote by Republican John Zimmerman. Martinez received 3,250 votes to Zimmerman's 3,601.

 

According to the Election Summary Report of the final numbers from the Grant County Clerk's office, early voters totaled 4,026, with 740 absentee ballots returned, and a turnout of 4,506 voters on Election Day for a total of 9,272 voters having taken advantage of their right. The total number of registered voters in the county is 21, 385, making the turnout 43.4 percent having voted.

With all state precincts having fully reported, incumbent governor Susana Martinez and her Lt. Gov. John A. Sanchez will return to Santa Fe, having defeated the ticket of Gary K. King and Debra A Haaland by 288,451 to 214,597.

Dianna J. Duran will return to her Secretary of State position, having won 257,932 votes over her challenger Maggie Toulouse Oliver's 240,049.

Timothy M. Keller will become state auditor, by a vote of 264,513 over Robert J. Aragon's 224,478.

State Treasurer will be Tim Eichenberg, who defeated Rick J. Lopez by a count of 255,631 to 232,846.

Hector Balderas will be the new attorney general, having garnered 288,509 votes to Susan M. Riedel's 208,188.

Aubrey Dunn, defeated incumbent commissioner of public lands, by a slim margin of 246,209 to 244,021.

All judges retained their positions; all constitutional amendments passed; and the three bond questions were approved.

All U.S. House of Representatives and Senate incumbents were returned to office.
