(Silver City, NM)— On November 14, 2014 the Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to the Mimbres Valley River area near Hwy 61 in reference to a report of possible human remains in the river bed. A rancher in the area saw what appeared to be human remains in the river bed so he contacted law enforcement. The Grant County Sheriff's Office along with the Office of Medical Investigator responded to the area. It is unknown who these remains are at this time. The remains have been sent up to the Office of Medical Investigator for identification purposes.
