The Silver City Office of Sustainability, PNM and The Volunteer Center are providing free bags to replace the single-use bags that will no longer be available as of Jan. 8, 2015.

On Nov. 15, the nationwide America Recycles Day, at the Silver City Office of Sustainability, people had the opportunity to recycle electronics, glass, as well as regularly recyclable materials. 

 

At right, Monty Montaño and Michael Palomares volunteered to hand out bulbs and bags. Kathi Anderson holds a bulb, and Rachelle Bergman holds the bag she just received.

Below left, Erin Shepard of the Silver City Lions Club accepted old eyeglasses to give to those who need them.

 

 

 

 

 

Below right, Linda Griggs and Connie Glenn of Workforce Connections hand out information on jobs and what the agency does. Glenn is also on the Recycling Advisory Committee.
