On December 06, 2014, at about 4:12 a.m., officers of the Silver City Police Department were dispatched to TGI Yogurt, which is located at 809 N. Hudson Street, in reference to a burglary alarm complaint.

Upon arrival, the officers noticed the security bars on the west window had been pried off and the window partially open. The officers were able to determine the business had been entered and began searching the area for a suspect.

The officers located a suspect in the Big Ditch in possession of some items taken from the business. Benjamin R. Abeyta, 20 years of age, from Silver City, was arrested and charged with ONE count of Burglary, a fourth-degree felony, ONE count of larceny, a petty misdemeanor, and ONE count of criminal damage, a petty misdemeanor.

Abeyta was booked into the Grant County Detention Center.
