...Strong Winds across Southwest and South Central New Mexico And Far West Texas on Christmas Afternoon...

.Generally Light Winds for Christmas Eve Will Be Followed By Increasingly Strong Winds across Southern New Mexico and Far West Texas for Christmas Afternoon. An Approaching Strong Pacific Storm System Will Direct Strong Winds Aloft Over the Region And Tighten Surface Gradients to Strengthen Surface Winds. Southwest Winds Will Increase to 20 to 30 Mph Area Wide. Portions Of Southwest New Mexico and Mountains across the Area Will See Stronger Winds. Winds Are Expected to Remain Breezy but Diminish Below 30 Mph after Dark in Southwest New Mexico and Around Midnight Over the Sacramento Mountains around Midnight Christmas Night.

The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/santa Teresa Has
Issued a Wind Advisory...which Is in Effect from Noon to 7 Pm Mst
Thursday.

* Event: Strong Southwest Winds across Southwest New Mexico
Christmas Afternoon and Early Evening.

* Winds: Southwest Winds Increasing to 25 to 35 Mph with Some
Higher Gusts in Excess of 45 Mph.

* Timing: Strongest Winds between Noon and 6 Pm. Winds Will Begin
to Diminish 15 to 25 Mph by 7 Pm

* Impact: Strong Cross Winds Will Be Hazardous for Large and High
Profile Vehicles...and Potentially Create Damage to Weakened And
Light Weight Structures...power Lines...trees... and Christmas
Decorations.
