The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/santa Teresa Has

 

* Event: Periods of Moderate to Heavy Snow across the Southwest
Mountains of Southern New Mexico.

* Snow Accumulations: 2 to 4 Inches of Snow Accumulation Over The
Slopes and Peaks of the Gila Region above 6500 Ft.

* Timing: High Elevation Snow Showers Will Develop in The
Afternoon Hours. on and off Snow Showers Are Expected To
Continue through the Day Thursday. Snow Will End Over the Gila
Region Thursday Evening.

* Winds: North to Northeasterly from 10 to 20 Mph Wednesday.
Increasing from the Northeast to 20 to 30 Mph with Higher
Gusts Thursday Afternoon and Evening.

* Snow Levels: Initial Snow Levels above 7000 Feet in The
Afternoon...lowering to 6000 Ft Wednesday Evening...dropping To
5000 Ft Thursday Morning. Further Dropping Thursday Evening To
near Desert Floor Levels.

* Impacts: Significant Snows May Result in Treacherous Winter
Driving Conditions with Snow Packed and Icy Roadways. Some
Roads May Be Closed. Dangerously Reduced Visibilities also
Possible in Heavy Snow.

Precautionary/preparedness Actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory Means that Periods of Snow...sleet...or
Freezing Rain Will Cause Travel Difficulties. Be Prepared For
Slippery Roads and Limited Visibilities...and Use Caution While
Driving.
