At its Monday, Feb. 9, meeting, the Bayard City Council awarded Tatsch Construction of Silver City a $113,846.06 project to construct a water transmission line over Cameron Creek. The present line, which is the main line from the Bayard Well Field, runs in the bottom of the creek and is subject to washing out, according to City Treasurer Christy Ortiz.

The council discussed the nearly complete Cobre Schools improvement project to the Ernie Christian Field, which is used by Cobre Schools and members of Little League. A few minor details need to be finished.

Submission of an application to the New Mexico Department of Transportation for a project on Orchard Street was approved. The application has yet to be completed so no dollar amount or other details were available.

Also approved was a street crossing to connect East and Stewart streets.
