Tuesday, March 24, marks one year since Cassy Farrington, 23, of Silver City, was found lifeless in a bathtub full of water in a residence on Mahogany Lane. The Office of the Medical Investigator has determined the death was a homicide. According to police reports, water to the bathtub was running when the body was discovered and, at least, part of the house had been flooded.

Lt. Ray Tavizon, Grant County Sheriff's Department, Criminal Investigations Division, told the Beat there was not a lot he could disclose about the current status of the case as it is still active and under investigation. Tavizon said, "We have interviewed lots of people and based on those have interviewed other people. We have also polygraphed several witnesses. We're still looking for concrete evidence on which to bring charges." Asked if they had received any recent tips which might help develop leads, Tavizon stated, "Not this year."

Anyone with information regarding the death of Cassy Farrington is requested to call the GCSD at 574-0100, or the Grant County Regional Dispatch Authority at 388-8840.
