Emergency Food & Shelter Program (EFSP) under Phase 32 has announced that Grant County has been awarded $11,573.00 to supplement and expand emergency food and shelter programs for the area. This award is part of the $120,000,000 that Congress has appropriated for EFSP, and the award for this area is based upon the total number of unemployed, as compared to the total number of unemployed in all qualifying jurisdictions in the country.

These funds have been awarded to supplement and expand emergency food and shelter programs. The Phase 32 Local Board for Grant County will decide the distribution of the funds based on established priorities among community needs. The Local Board ensures these funds go to non-profit organizations that meet the criteria in assisting the neediest with emergency shelter, food and assistance with rents and utilities.

Non-profit organizations interested in applying to qualify as a Local Recipient Organization to be considered in the distribution of these funds must submit an application by 5:00 p.m. on March 27, 2015. El Refugio, the administering agency for the Local Board of Grant County, has applications available by email or can be picked up at ERI's offices.
