No attempt was made to report on Monday, April 27, regarding the budget work session meeting by the Cobre School Board, as it was not a formal meeting.

According to Superintendent Robert Mendoza, the district had received information from the state to begin the work, and much discussion happened, but little that could be put in place. Between those discussions and May 11, the regular board meeting, Frank Ryan, Cobre's financial director, and his staff still have much to do. By the May 25 regular meeting, the budget should be about finished and ready for board approval.

Mendoza suggested that the May 11 meeting might start early, as the board meeting could be a long one. The budget goes to the state on June 6 for approval.

No meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 8, but the June 22 meeting is expected to be held as usual. It will be the last board meeting of the 2014-2015 school year.
