On May 5 at midnight, Give Grandly 2015 a 24-hour Day of Giving, was completed, having raised over $92,000 for 42 participating nonprofits from 751 individual donors. The icing on the cake was High Desert Humane Society finding good homes for 8 puppies and dogs, representing $770 in adoption fees. The lucky dogs spent the day in Gough Park, encouraging everyone to donate to a cause they believe in.

The Grant County Community Foundation and the newly formed Southwest New Mexico Nonprofit Coalition comprised of 42 nonprofit agencies in Southwest New Mexico worked collectively to produce "Give Grandly!" The group as a whole had been meeting since last August to prepare a gold standard for the National Day of Giving. This effort took 10 months to create including all facets of the May 5th Giving Fair and website. Individual committees developed logistics for the event in the park, fundraising for internal expenses, budget management, public relations, advertising and support services. As Nonprofit Liaison for the Grant County Community Foundation, Peggy Hutchinson oversaw website development and online giving on May 5. The Grant County Community Foundation paid the fee for purchasing the online platform that benefited all the participants.

We thank the generous donors of Southwest New Mexico (+ a few from out-of- state, including several former residents), who dug into their pockets and gave so much to support local nonprofits! While the majority of donations came through the website, dozens of donors came to Gough Park to meet volunteers and staff from the nonprofits they wanted to support. Numerous people donated to multiple nonprofit groups. One retired man brought twelve $5 dollar bills and walked around from booth to booth.
We are most grateful to the Silver City Sun News, the Silver City Daily Press, the Grant County Beat, Desert Exposure, Gila Mimbres Community Radio and Silver Radio for generating interest and informing the public about the event before and after the Giving Day.

100 % of the funds raised benefit the great nonprofits of Southwest New Mexico. The Community Foundation and the Coaltion do not take a percentage. We are proud of highlighting the important work of each organization, improving and enriching lives. This event is a reminder of the importance of giving back and the great joy of generosity.
