On Wednesday, May 6, at about 4:45 a.m., Silver City Police Department officers were dispatched to H&S Feed Supply on Truck Bypass Road in reference to an alarm inside the store. On arriving, officers observed a door that had been damaged in order to make entrance.

According to an incident report, when the manager arrived, having been notified by the alarm company, she stated that jewelry, men's cologne, and folding knives were missing. Officers noted that the alarm box had also been damaged.

The total value of the stolen items and damages was estimated at $3,066.25.

When surveillance camera footage was viewed, according to the report, officers were able to identify one of two subjects as Katherine Aleckson, 35, of Silver City. The other individual on the footage, heavy set and wearing a cowboy hat, blue jacket, red shirt, dark jeans, dark shoes, and gloves was not immediately identified.

A warrant charging Aleckson with burglary and larceny, fourth degree felonies, and criminal damage to property, a misdemeanor, was issued. Aleckson was placed under arrest at her residence on West Street that day at approximately 6 p.m.by SCPD officers. She was booked under a $10,500 cash or surety bond into the Grant County Detention Center, where she remains in custody as of Monday, May 11, according to GCDC personnel.
