Tuesday, May 11, at about 8:45 p.m. Grant County Sheriff's Department deputies were dispatched to Highway 15 near MM 2 in reference to a family dispute. A nearby resident reported to the Beat that about five law enforcement vehicles and two fire engines had headed northward, and a portion of the highway was blocked.

According to the GCSD, a family was coming into Silver City from north of Pinos Altos, and had stopped the vehicle because of an argument, when a 17-year-old exited the vehicle and walked into the surrounding countryside. Approximately 15 minutes later the teen was observed walking south along Highway 15 and was transported back to the family vehicle.

Deputies called an ambulance for a female in the vehicle, who was determined to have suffered a seizure, and she was transported to Gila Regional Medical Center at approximately 10:15 p.m.

No charges were filed nor arrests made, according to a GCSD spokesman.
