Silver City: The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) with Interstate Highway Construction (IHC) is in the first phase as they move towards the demo of the bridge on NM90/Hudson Street.

The contractor is currently removing the aged utility line from under the bridge and disposing of all material in order to provide a safe environment as they prepare for the bridge demo on Friday May 22, 2015. Motorists will no longer have access over the bridge starting Friday May 22 at 4:30 am. The contractors working hours during the demo will be 7:00 am until 10:00 pm daily, where their working hours will change once the bridge demo is complete. The contract will then be working Monday to Friday from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm. The NMDOT and IHC will have full traffic control staged throughout the project where motorists will be advised to seek an alternate route. Signage will be posted informing the public of the work zone.

The NMDOT and IHC will be holding their next Public Involvement Meeting on Wednesday June 10, 2105 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The meeting will be held at the Grant County Convention Center located at 3031 Highway 180 - E in Silver City, NM.

The NMDOT and the contractor will provide detailed information regarding the project specifications, contractor's work schedule, roadway closures/detours, and will answer questions regarding the timeline of the project.

The public is encouraged to attend in order to address any concerns they may have as it relates to this project in Silver City, NM. To request American with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations for this meeting, contact Bridget Spedalieri NMDOT District One Public Information Officer at 750 N. Solano, Las Cruces, NM 88001 or (575) 525-7340.
