Activity Increases on Woodrow Fire, Gila Wilderness
MIMBRES, NM; June 20, 2015 - Activity increased on the Woodrow Fire in the Gila Wilderness of the Gila National Forest as it reached Mogollon Creek last night. The lightning-caused wildfire was detected Thursday, June 18, about seven miles southeast of Mogollon Baldy Lookout and is estimated at 100 acres.
Two Hotshot crews have been ordered to assist with suppression efforts on this incident. Today, crews will be supported by two helicopters transporting personnel and equipment into the remote location of the fire and Air Attack to perform overall observations of the forest. The extended forecast shows above normal temperatures through the weekend.
