Situation: The continued strategy is to manage the fire for multiple objectives, initial planning area is 2,000 acres ( no private), fall back planning area is 22,000 with minimal private acreage included. The fire is backing down ridge lines and creeping along the ground. As the Red Canyon Fire continues to burn, pre-determined management areas are being mapped to keep the fire within those boundaries. Most of the increase in acres reported today is the result of from firing operations designed to bring the fire down slowly to containment lines.
