On July 25, 2015, at about 7:01am, officers from the Silver City Police Department responded to the residence located at 413 35th Street in Silver City, in reference to a reported unattended death complaint.

Upon the officers €™ arrival, they found an 87 year old male deceased in the garage area of the home and an 84 year old female deceased inside the residence.

The victims have been identified as Carl Woodward, 87 years of age, and his wife Betty Woodward, 84 years of age. According to the investigation, Betty was shot twice in the face by Carl while she was sitting on the couch. Carl then walked into the garage and shot himself once in the mouth. A .38 Cal. Smith & Wesson revolver was found next to Carl. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been notified.

Based on the investigation, the shooting occurred sometime in the evening after 7:30pm on July 24, 2015.

The investigation is continuing into the incident.
