Luna County - On Sunday, August 2, 2015 at approximately 11:15 p.m., officers from the New Mexico State Police responded to the scene of a fatal vehicle crash. This crash occurred at mile marker 22 on State Road 11, south of Deming, New Mexico.

The initial investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Jose Osornio (31) from Deming, NM was southbound on State Road 11 when the vehicle he was driving went onto the right shoulder of the roadway, then crossed both travel lanes, and overturned several times on the northbound shoulder where it erupted in flames and burned.

Mr. Osornio was not wearing his seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Alcohol and Speed are believed to be contributing factors in this crash.

This vehicle crash is still under investigation.
