On September 15, 2015, at 8pm, Justin Giacolleti, 31 years of age, from Rio Rancho, NM, was arrest on a warrant for an Open Count of Murder. The charge stems for the beating death of Fred Allison, who was 54 years of age at the time.

On June 17, 2006, at about 2:06 am, Mr. Allison was found in the Penny Park, which is located at 1305 Grant Street, in Silver City. Mr. Allison was found unresponsive near the entrance to the park and appeared to have blunt force trauma to his head. Mr. Allison was transported to Gila Regional Medical Center and then later to Thomason Hospital in El Paso, Texas, where he was pronounced dead on June 18, 2006.

Although the case is just over 9 years old, the police department continued investigating the case and through that investigation was able to piece together the events of that night and develop enough information to file charges on Giacolleti.

Detectives from the Silver City Police Department traveled to Rio Rancho, and with the assistance of Rio Rancho Police Department Detectives, our detectives were able to locate and interview Giacolleti.

Giacolleti was arrested and transported to Sandoval County Detention Center, where he was booked in. His bond amount was set at $100,000 cash only.
