On October 13, 2015, the Village of Santa Clara held its regular meeting. The meeting was called to order at around 3:03 pm. The mayor and all four trustees were present. Here is a brief summary of the meeting.

The agenda for the meeting was approved with the change from ordinance number 219 to ordinance number 224.

Trustees approved the department reports and minutes for the last regular meeting.

Mayor Pro-Tem Albert Esparza gave the Safety Committee Report. The report included a pump being hit with a vehicle, maintenance personnel needing to wear their protective gear, and maintenance department members needing to use their radios more.

Trustee Olga Amador gave the Action Committee Report. She talked about the sugar heads from the mining district. They were made on October 10 and will be sold on October 17 at the National Guard Armory in Santa Clara. It will be $3 dollars for kids. The winners of the competitions will be on display at Western New Mexico University for the month of November.

Trustee Richard Esparza gave the Cemetery Committee Report. He stated there will be a clean up on October 24, 2015. In this cleanup, they expect to finish everything. He touched upon a Trunk or Treat on October 31, 2015 to be held from 4-8 p.m. also at the National Guard Armory in Santa Clara. He mentioned two members manned a booth at the Harvest Festival.

Several people have signed up for the Lighted Festival Parade to be held Dec. 5.

Mayor Richard Bauch said the public hearing on Fort Bayard went well, with a lot of input given. Mr. Young sub-divided his property. Also, the grant project awaits approval.

Robert Tovar talked about a new business and gave information on the Billy goats for weed control.

Ordinance 16-1, an ordinance adopting amendments to ordinance 207 given notice of onJune 20, 2007 “Employee Manual," was passed.

An amendment to Ordinance 224 uniform traffic ordinance was adopted.

In closed session, no decisions were made on the personnel matter pursuant to 10-5-1 H (2) NMSU 1978 for anticipated and pending litigation, police, administration, maintenance, and fire departments.

The next regular meeting is set for Tuesday November 10, 2015 at 3 p.m.
