0n October 26, 2015, according to a news release from the 6th Judicial District Attorney, defendant Jessica Contreras pleaded Guilty to embezzleming more then $8,0000.00 from New Mexico State Police officer Terrazas under the "guise of helping Ms. Terrazas during the difficult period of her mother's death. Instead of Jessica Contreras compassionately and responsibly assisting the grieving Ms. Terrazas, paying bills with Ms. Terrazas' monies, Ms. Contreras "partied hard" and she "breached the trust afforded her € by using the monies for her own selfish purposes." This type of ego-centric embezzlement not only acts as a breach of trust but creates wounds that are deep and hard to eradicate.This type of criminal speaks volumes about the honesty and integrity of the guilty party.

"I'm sorry" does not cut it, according to the news release.

Ms Contrereras will be subject to strict scrutiny of Adult probation and Parole Division, Mandatory urinalysis; $673 restitution costs; and probation costs; NO CONTACT Order between Ms. Contreras and the victim; and participation in programs directed by her Adult Probation Officer.
