By the grapevine, which is always active in Silver City, this author heard a rumor that some of the concrete used in the New Mexico-90/Hudson Street Bridge did not pass testing.

Brian Torres, New Mexico Department of Transportation project manager, assured the Beat that everything placed is within specifications.

"We did have some tests that were out of spec," Torres said. "They weren't placed. We have records that show that anything that was out of spec we rejected. We don't use material that is out of spec."
