On November 9, 2015, The Village of Santa Clara held its regular meeting.

There was a lot of public input on both old business and new business.
€¢ Old business:
o Thomas Caddel brought concern to the potholes in town.
€¢ He was told the village is experiencing a delay in the obtaining the hot mix to fix the potholes.
o Professional service agreement with Engineers Inc. approved.
o Engineers Inc. reported on Special Appropriations Program (SAP) grant for 2014.
€¢ This was placed out to bid.
o Rest of the grants on engineering were sent for approval.
€¢ New Business:
o Request for proposal awarded for solid waste management.
o Speed bumps requested on Cottonwood.
€¢ A 4-way stop intersection was proposed instead.
o A developer would like to purchase land by the Armory.
€¢ Approved with National Guard approval.

The Safety Committee report was on the maintenance worker who was injured when a rock fell on his leg. He lost two days of work.

The Action Committee reported that the Haunted House Carnival was a major success. They had more than 420 visitors. It was also stated that the Lighted Parade will be on December 5, 2015 and will take the same route as it did last year. There will also be a decorated house contest this year.

The Cemetery Committee reported the cleanup event on October 24, 2015, had more than 30 volunteers. They planted 17 trees, and the water for the cemetery has been installed.

The Historical Committee will hold its first meeting with Rocky Hildebrand on November 12, 2015 at 3 p.m.

In the mayor's report, Richard Bauch stated that after attending the Building a Better Community Conference, he has a lot of ideas to implement into the community. Syzygy Tile dedicated a tile to the village with the logo on it.

Other business included:
• Approved resolution for loan/intercept for two police vehicles.
• Approved budget adjustment to move money from the general fund to the municipal street fund.
• Ordinance passed on adopting amendment to employee manual (adopted in Uniform Traffic Ordinance)
• A proclamation was made to make November, American Diabetes Month.
• A table made to regulate mobile homes.
• Three new maintenance employees were hired.

The next regular meeting will be held on December 8, 2015.
