"Due to a glitch, which we had to fix over the weekend," Johnny Macias, Interstate Highway Construction project superintendent, told the Beat, "we have rescheduled the first pour of concrete on the northbound lanes on the east side of the bridge for Dec. 1."

He said he brought in 20 additional workers, above the 30 he already has on the job, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 21 and 22, to fix the problem. He said due to the work, the concrete could not be rescheduled until Dec. 1.

"We have the crews working on the southbound lanes on the west side of the bridge working to get it ready for the second pour on Dec. 8," Macias said.

According to the schedule, as presented recently, in spite of this glitch, with the pouring of the second two lanes on Dec. 8, that should keep the company on schedule to open at least two lanes before Christmas.
