Silver City Police Department Chief Ed Reynolds told the Beat Thursday morning that the Grant County Regional Dispatch Authority advised SCPD Wednesday, Jan. 27, of a call received reporting that a Silver High School student had threatened to Gǣshoot up the school.Gǥ

According to Reynolds, investigators, Wednesday night, following up on GCRDA's report, determined there was no viable threat of harm. He also stated there was no list of names or a firearm, associated with the possible threat, found during the course of the investigation.

Reynolds said his department is maintaining a presence at and near the school today and is continuing the investigation.
