The Grant County Sheriff's Department is investigating four deaths originally thought to be homicides, but according to Lt. Fermin Lopez, are now being considered suicides. GǣWe don't believe the deaths were related,Gǥ he said.

According to Lopez, the fatalities included three males, one found at Gomez Peak on Feb. 14, one found on Highway 180 in front of Cobre High School on Feb. 14, and one on Polomski Street in Bayard on Feb. 11. A female was found on Farley Road off of Rosedale Road on Feb. 13.

GǣFirearms were involved in all four deaths,Gǥ Lopez said and stated that the investigation is still ongoing.
