FIRE UPDATES FOR 3.29.16. AT 5:30 PM

Bledsoe1 Fire: The tall grass fire north of Tatum in Lea County has reportedly burned an estimated 3,000 acres of private land. Resources from local fire departments have responded. Access to the site is poor due to very sandy conditions. Wind speeds in the area are approximately 20-25 mph, and up to 40 mph for gusts. No structures are threatened.

Hay Vega Fire: A ponderosa pine and grass fire has been reported on private land in Catron County. Three acres have burned, and the fire is reportedly not increasing in size. No structures are threatened. Wind speeds in the area are approximately 25-30 mph. Local, state, and federal resources have responded.

Moon Mountain Fire: Resources have continued suppression activities at the Moon Mountain Fire near Ruidoso in Lincoln County. Wind speeds in the area approximately 30 mph, and up to 50 mph for gusts. No changes in acreage or activity have been reported.
