Crews have stopped forward progression. The fire is estimated at 64 acres.

RESERVE, NM; April 21, 2016 - For Immediate Release - Resources are responding to a wildland fire on the Reserve Ranger District,18 miles southeast of Apache Creek and south of Highway 12. The Rail Fire is approximately 50 acres, burning predominantly in grass.

Gila National Forest engines, volunteer fire department engines and a helicopter from the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest are assigned to the Rail Fire. Structures are threatened. The Mt. Withington Lookout reported the fire to the Silver City Interagency Dispatch Center Thursday afternoon. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
