By now Grant Countians must know that the murder/suicide which occurred on Silver City's Serinna Court, Thursday, April 21, involved an SCPD captain who shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and then shot himself to death. What people may not know is how this event has affected the department, and more specifically its chief, Ed Reynolds.

"We're devastated by this," Reynolds told the Beat today, "Devastated that one of our officers was involved, an officer who was a coworker and a friend to all of us."
