On Friday, April 29, at about 3:40 p.m., shots were reported from around Bremen and Cooper streets. A Silver City Police officer advised that it was New Mexico Game and Fish personnel using fireworks to try to get rid of mountain sheep. Again, on Saturday, April 30, at approximately 6:45 p.m., a call came into the Grant County Regional Dispatch Authority reporting about 10 big-horn sheep in the parking lot of the District Courthouse and some of the sheep were running behind the jail.

Mountain sheep were also reported in the same general area about a month ago.
