Silver City, NM (May 5, 2016) - The Tour of the Gila continued Thursday with the Stage 2 Inner Loop Road Race. Travis McCabe (Holowesko-Citadel) claimed his first Tour of the Gila stage victory, and German-Canadian cyclist Jasmin Glaesser captured her first UCI road stage victory. The Inner Loop Road Race features some challenging climbs and most technical descents in the USA Pro Road Tour.

McCabe has been after this win for the past three years. GǣNow that I have been able to do [the Inner Loop] so many times and lose a couple, I knew what it was going to be like for the win. We had a tail wind coming into the finish, so I knew it was going to be fast. The team just rode great all day today. We were able to stay together, the guys listened to me, I tried to keep everything calm tell them when to go and where we really needed to hit it. And it worked perfectly.Gǥ McCabe will wear the PNM sprinter jersey into Stage 3 tomorrow.

Sepp Kuss (Gateway-Harley Davidson) kept the best young rider jersey today. Finishing 4th in stage 1 yesterday, Kuss was excited to set up two riders from his team for the sprint finish today.
