The Town of Hurley held a regular meeting on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.

The meeting began with the approval for the agenda.

During the budget workshop of the meeting, Town Clerk Lori Ortiz provided each department's wish list for the upcoming fiscal year.

The discussion for the workshop focused on expenditures.

Acting Chief Isaac Bauch presented the Police Department wish list, which included $8,500 to remodel the department, $4,500 to update/remodel the evidence lockers, $1,500 to upgrade ammo and Taser lockers, $1,000 to upgrade filing systems and storage, and $1,000 key padlock system.

The council requested that Bauch submit a sketch of the remodel of the department and to begin getting quotes from contractors.

Acting Maintenance Supervisor Blas Rodriguez presented the wish list for the Maintenance Department. The list included a request for items that fit within the yearly budget. One priority item is $15,000 for the lift station maintenance.

Delilah Huerta, Hurley animal control officer, made a request for $3,800 for a washer, dryer, water heater and sink to be hooked up. Huerta stated she already has the appliances and needed plumbing work done. Huerta made a second request for $155 to attend the New Mexico Humane Conference in Albuquerque, NM in August.

The Court requested a 24.11% pay increase for the clerk. The Court will need $2,500 to be budgeted for the new software maintenance agreement with Casselle.

The meeting was properly adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
