Below is the text from this morning's official news release from the SW Area Incident Management Team #5 about the Dog Head Fire.

SOUTHWEST INCIDENT
MANAGEMENT TEAM #5

Estimated Acres: 17,615 Start Date: June 14, 2016
Cause: Under investigation Location: 6 miles NW of Tajique, NM
Containment: zero Fuels: heavy dead/down timber, ponderosa pine stands
Total personnel: 741

Fire information: 855-581-3861, 855-585-5546, 855-581-3862, 855-585-5547

Evacuations:
For evacuation information in Bernalillo County call the Dog Head Fire Joint information Center at
855-615-5195, 855-615-5196, 888-308-3120.

For evacuation information in Torrance County call the Emergency Operation Center at 505-544-4727.

Evacuation centers are located in Estancia at the Torrance County Fairgrounds (for people, pets, and livestock), and in Tijeras at the Los Vecinos Community Center for people.

A Closure Order has been issued for the following areas within the Sandia Ranger District: All National Forest System lands, roads, and trails within the boundaries of the Sandia Ranger District south of Interstate 40.

Damage Assessment: 24 single residences and 21 other minor structures destroyed.
