The Grant County Sheriff's Department is actively investigating a death that occurred yesterday evening at an address off of Rosedale Road in Silver City.

On June 23rd 2016, shortly before 4:30 p.m., Grant County Sheriff's Department deputies were dispatched to an address off of Rosedale Road in reference to a fight between two males. While deputies were en route to the call, they were advised by dispatch that one of the males involved in the fight was now on the ground and was not breathing.

Deputies arrived on scene along with medical personnel. Contact was made with the unresponsive male subject. Medical personnel immediately began to render First Aid. The male subject was transported to Gila Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
